MALCOLM R. SMITH was born in 1951 in New York City, and grew up in the village of Babylon on Long Island, New York.

After graduating from high school with honors, Malcolm was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Literature in 1973 from the State University of New York at Buffalo. After achieving his university education, Malcolm graduated from New York Law School in New York City in 1976 with a Doctorate of Law Degree.

Malcolm practiced law in New York for nine years, in the fields of estate planning, family law, and real estate.

In 1985, Malcolm relocated to Florida, and established his law practice in the Florida Suncoast region. He practices law in the areas of estate planning, incapacity planning, probate, trust administration, and asset protection planning.

Malcolm is licensed to practice law in Florida and New York. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the West Pasco Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association. He also is a member of the Real Estate, Probate, and Estate Planning Section and the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar.

Malcolm also is licensed in Florida as a life insurance and health insurance agent, in order to provide assistance to his clients in the areas of life insurance and long term care insurance.

Malcolm has been a frequent lecturer to the public, not only in his own seminars that he regularly provides, but also as a guest speaker before numerous civic groups and for other professionals in their own programs. Malcolm also has appeared on the "FLALaw" television program hosted by the law firm of Perenich & Carroll.

Malcolm has been married to his wife Lorraine since 1978.
